This Georgian end terrace building will be refurbished & simpathetically extended to provide modern office space. Structural works consisted of stabilising party walls, chimneys and inspecting existing floor joists to assess these for reuse within the proposed scheme.
Architect: Conor McKenna
The existing vernacular farm outbuilding had suffered extensive structural cracking with walls out of plumb. The majority of the existing random rubble walls were saved by stitching cracks using propietary stainless steel rods, and providing a new concrete eaves ring beam to limit outward spread of the walls at roof level. A new steel framed roof was provided to give the new building a vaulted ceiling.
